IGCSE Exam Planning Spreadsheet for Home-Ed

If your home-educated child is gearing up for GCSE or IGCSE exams, the planning can feel heavy. That’s why this spreadsheet exists. It isn’t a revision timetable. The tasks that actually sink private candidates are the administrative ones — no exam centre secured, an entry deadline missed, a subject and exam board chosen with coursework the centre can’t run.

Working out exactly which subject your child has options for, where and when they’re going to sit them and exactly how much to budget for each exam season so the planner front-loads those and leaves revision till last. Work the tabs left to right and you’ll be doing them in roughly the order they bite.

Fill in the yellow cells; the grey rows are just examples to overwrite. You’ll notice the dates and fees are left blank on purpose — they change every year and vary by centre, so rather than hand you a figure that’s wrong by the time you read it, the Start Here tab links you straight to JCQ (to find an exam centre) and each exam board so you can check the current ones yourself. Start with the Centre Tracker, ideally the autumn before a summer sitting. Everything else follows from having a seat booked.
